«I cannot find a job with 8 real years of experience because of “professionals” with fake experience.

I’d like to share my pain regarding job searching in the USA job market. Over the past five months, I’ve been diligently seeking opportunities as a QA Engineer and I am pretty sure that one of the reasons why I still haven’t gotten it is because a lot of people who just passed the 6-9 months QA course applied to all QA positions in the market. They were taught how to create a perfect resume/cover letter with 5 fake years of experience; they were taught how to perfectly answer questions on the interview. They apply for over 100 jobs per day (it is a real number); they can pass a background check because they provide a fake mobile number where someone from their school is always ready to confirm that this person has real experience. But they don’t have this experience! How do I know it? I spoke with a lot of them, I watched their blogs and QA course channels. There are really a lot of them!
I already know some examples when these “entry-level professionals” without experience get a job for Mid-Senior level, so I don’t understand why I have to compete with such people.
I don’t say that it is the only reason why I am still in the market, but it is one of them. Just look at how many people applied for one QA Engineer position on LinkedIn. How can I be selected from over 5000 or even 1000 applications? This is almost unrealistic given the current market, and I have already lost many opportunities because of that.
Of course, I have had final interviews, but I received feedback like “You are a really good professional, but we found someone who is better” (probably because this person knows better how to answer the questions).
There was even a case when I asked one fake-experienced person: “What did you do for a successful interview?” and this person suggested to me a paid consultation. People without experience suggest to senior specialists to pay for the consultation “How to pass the interview”. I still cannot believe this! 😐
I really think this is a significant problem in an already difficult market during a crisis.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I appreciate any insights you can share.
And I’m still fighting, and I’m not going to give up!
P.S. Please let me know if your company is looking for a QA Engineer».
